Leviticus 6::14 On a griddle it shall be made with oil; when it is soaked, thou shalt bring it in; in broken pieces shalt thou offer the meal-offering for a sweet savour unto the LORD.

He therefor cunsult Balaam who recomment them to send their "daughters of Moab"to the Israelili People and the people began to commit whoredom, in Numbers 25:1
This comes to an end in Numbers 25:8 . . So the plague was stayed from the children of Israel.
God went angry and says in:
Numbers 25:17 Vex the Midianites, and smite them:
25:18 For they vex you with their wiles, wherewith they have beguiled you in the matter of Peor, and in the matter of Cozbi, the daughter of a prince of Midian, their sister, which was slain in the day of the plague for Peor's sake.
